Self Advocacy Training

By Mary Phillips

Self Advocacy Training
As part of the Self and Peer Advocacy groups we are running self advocacy training, delivered by our partners Cloverleaf advocacy.
Being assertive and representing yourself is a skill that you can develop; self-advocacy is concerned with learning to speak up for yourself in order to have your needs met. This course is highly interactive and provides you with the necessary skills and confidence to represent yourself more successfully and to manage communication with others appropriately.

 The course will help you:

  • Practice and enhance your skills in order to be heard
  • Recognise your own strengths and use them to speak up
  • Effectively Communicate what you want/need
  • Explore ways to manage a negative result
  • Learn to negotiate effectively

If you want to take part in this free training and learn more about advocating for yourself please email selfandpeeradvocacy@citizensadvicesheffield.org.uk
We don’t have any current dates but please do contact us to add your name to our waiting list for this training.
